India is an endearing character and I would want to read all about her life. The controversy regarding breasts is as absurd as most controversies regarding books and why they are banned or withdrawn from libraries. For all of our talk regarding freedom of speech and the like, many of us still have a difficult time accepting things outside the homogenized “Leave it to Beaver” concept of family. It still amazes me to find people who think it is disgusting to nurse a baby in public. What do they think breasts were designed for?
Thanks for an opportunity to hear about India. I look forward to reading the book.

Hi, my name is Heidi. My friend, Amanda (a teacher in Maine) sent me a copy of this book and I loved it so much I read it to my class of 3rd and 4th graders out here in California. They loved it too! They begged me to read the sequel! I told them there was no sequel, but maybe they could write to to author to ask for one! 🙂 Is there an address they can write to? Now that I know about India’s blog, I will definitely pass that on to them. Thank you for writing such an engaging, fun book that so many kids can relate to!

Dear Heidi…there IS a sequel. The publisher will release it once the first one has sold 10,000 copies. Oh dear. That’s a lot. Thank you for your lovely comments!
